一般來說Shoegazing的出現是肇因於My Bloody Valentine88年所推出了'Isn't Anything'
這張專輯影響了一掛年輕樂團的創作方針
但是觸發這個段樂風的出現絕對不只是這個原因
早在80年代中期的Cocteau Twins就悄悄的進行著將噪音融入他們的夢幻之音
而Jesus & Mary Chain絕對也是主要的影響者
他們的首張專輯Psychocandy為日後的Shoegazing開啟了一扇大門
除此之外，早在60年代的Velvet Underground出現的White Noise
更是Noise-pop仿效的對象！！

但已經褪去了許多噪音
